The Epilepsy Foundation of Hawaii (a Hawaii non-profit corporation) is sponsoring the Freedom Run on July 4, 2016. The distances choices are 5k, 10k and a one mile walk starting and ending at Kailua High School. The net proceeds of the event will go to sponsor the Foundation's educational and informational services.
The Epilepsy Foundation of Hawaii provides direct services to individuals with seizure disorders. It is estimated that over 15,000 Hawaii residents have epilepsy and over 75,000 people are touched by it.
The first place male and female winners in each run will receive trophies. The first three male and female age class finishers in the runs will receive ribbons with medals.
Entry fees are $30 for the run and walk. Applications can be obtained in HawaiiSports magazine which is distributed to sporting goods establishments, shoe stores, health clubs, gyms, fitness facilities, bike shops, etc. Also, copies can be obtained at the Epilepsy Foundation office (at 1050 Ala Moana Blvd., Suite 2550) or be downloaded from htp://www.epilepsyhawaii.org/upcoming-events/freedom-run/. Registration on-line is through Active.com. Sign-ups will be taken 30 minutes before the race.
