If you’re an HMSA member experiencing mental health or behavioral health challenges, support is available. HMSA’s behavioral health partner, Magellan Hawaii, helps ensure you have the support you need for conditions like depression, anxiety, alcohol and substance use, post-traumatic stress, and more.
Magellan Hawaii can:
- Make referrals to behavioral health resources and services.
- Find behavioral health providers to help with specific needs.
- Connect you to an HMSA case manager for additional support.
Magellan Hawaii also provides educational resources online (see below).
To see if you’re eligible to participate in the program, check your Guide to Benefits or call HMSA using the number on the back of your HMSA membership card. If you’re having an emergency and are in immediate danger of harming yourself or others, please call 911 or go to the nearest hospital.

But sometimes after having a baby, you may experience unexpected feelings. It’s common to get what’s known as the “baby blues,” feeling happy one minute and sad the next.
