With Mother’s Day approaching, we have a quick, easy, and meaningful craft that’s fun for keiki to make. They can use a photo, write a meaningful message, and have a tea-rrific time when they assemble this adorable teapot card.

Supplies

  • Printable template
  • Printer or stock paper, white or color
  • Scissors or precision knife
  • Photo, at least 2½ x 2” (optional)
  • Glue or glue stick
  • Crayons or markers and pen

Instructions
Choose if you want a teapot decorated and ready to print (page 1), a teapot to color (page 2), or a teapot to design (page 3), and print the appropriate page.

For the photo version, print page 4.

For the Mother’s Day message version, print page 5.

Have your child color or design their teapot and write a message on the back.

Cut out the components on both pages.

For the photo version, place the slider template on top of the photo. Trace around the shape and cut photo.

Keep in mind that the top of the photo is where you’ll glue the lid of the teapot like a hat.

Slip the top of the slider (photo or Mother’s Day message) through the slit in the teapot insert (from the bottom to the top).

Glue teapot lid to the top of the slider once it’s in position. Test the slider to make sure it’s smooth.

Add glue outside the dotted line of the teapot insert and affix to back of the teapot body, making sure the slider still slides up and down smoothly. Glue the message piece to the back of the teapot.

That’s it! Time to honor Mom and get the par-tea started!

Happy Mother’s Day!
