If you want to experience Kona coffee in a new way, try this poke recipe. It won first place in the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival's annual recipe contest last year. It’s savory, easy to make, and it’s sure to start conversations. It may be the perfect choice for your next get-together.

KONA COFFEE POKE

Poke ingredients
• 2 lbs. ahi, cut into cubes
• 1 tsp. sesame seeds
• 1 Tbsp. sliced pickled ginger
• 1 Tbsp. sauerkraut

Marinade ingredients
• 1/3 cup low-sodium shoyu
• 2 Tbsp. ground medium roast Kona coffee
• 1 Tbsp. oyster sauce
• 1 tsp. crushed red pepper

Sauce ingredients
• 1 cup plain whole milk yogurt
• 2 Tbsp. mayonnaise
• 2 Tbsp. grated Japanese cucumber
• 1 Tbsp. minced garlic
• Pepper to taste

Instructions
Cut ahi into cubes and set aside.

Mix marinade ingredients. Combine ahi with marinade. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator overnight.

Mix sauce ingredients. Transfer to a zip-lock bag and refrigerate.

Take poke out of the refrigerator. Transfer to a serving dish or bowl. Top with ginger and sauerkraut.

Drizzle sauce over poke before serving.
