The spooky season is upon us. It’s never too early to start planning for Halloween whether you’re repurposing decorations, preparing festive treats, or catching up on local ghost stories. Carving pumpkins is traditional at Halloween, but how about something a little different this year? With no-carve pumpkin decorating, all you need are a few supplies and your imagination.

Level One No-Carve Pumpkin: Mummy

Supplies

  • Mini pumpkin
  • Gauze or creepy fabric
  • Googly eyes
  • Hot glue
  • Scissors

Instructions
Hot glue googly eyes to pumpkin. Cut four to five strips of gauze or creepy fabric. 

Wrap gauze or creepy fabric around the pumpkin leaving space for the eyes and mouth. Your mummy is done!

Level Two No-Carve Pumpkin: Friendly Monster

Supplies

  • Mini pumpkin
  • Green acrylic paint
  • Small foam brush
  • Hot glue
  • Googly eyes
  • Round stickers (assorted colors)
  • Buttons (a little smaller than the round stickers)
  • Black pipe cleaners
  • Pink pom poms
  • Pencil
  • Black marker
  • White foam
  • Scissors

Instructions
Use small foam brush to apply green acrylic paint on pumpkin and let dry. Apply second coat and let dry. Hot glue three googly eyes close together on pumpkin. Use a black marker to draw eyelashes. Cut mouth out of white foam and hot glue on. 

Place round stickers all over pumpkin. Hot glue buttons onto round stickers. Curl black pipe cleaners around a pencil and hot glue to stem of pumpkin. Hot glue pom pom to end of each pipe cleaner. Your friendly monster pumpkin is ready to go.

Level Three No Carve Pumpkin: Black Cat

Supplies

  • Mini pumpkin
  • Black acrylic paint
  • Small foam brush
  • Black and yellow foam
  • Hot glue
  • Scissors

Instructions
Use small foam brush to apply black acrylic paint on pumpkin and let dry. Apply second coat and let dry. Cut features as shown in picture from black and yellow foam. 

Hot glue the ears on top of pumpkin with the face on front and tail in back. Your black cat pumpkin is purrrect!
